In today’s increasingly digital world, companies are generating more data than ever before, and most understand the need to not only protect that information, but also that there is a great deal of value in that data in aggregate. Back in 2007 when Sonian was founded, both the challenges posed and opportunities created by big data weren’t so readily understood. Our founders realized earlier than most that cloud companies and the technology architectures required for them to be successful were going to be the next big thing in order to support businesses’ need to manage, protect, and make the most out of this vast sea of information.
With that in mind, I’m excited to announce today that Sonian has been rated as a Strong Performer in The Forrester Wave™: Information Archiving Cloud Providers, Q4 2016 (subscription required).
Specifically, Forrester noted Sonian’s search capabilities, citing that, “customers report high satisfaction with search and ease of applying legal holds at an item level…” Sonian achieved the highest possible score in the archive repository, cloud architecture, data sovereignty support, analytics, customer base, and pricing models criteria. The Wave report also recognized our contributions to the ElasticSearch project, which we’ve been involved with since its inception. ElasticSearch is an integral part of our focus on building fast, phenomenal search experiences for our archive product.
Forrester also pointed to the importance of analytics capabilities in turning archives into sources of insights, “Innovative vendors are augmenting the essential compliance capabilities of [cloud archives] with analytics, advanced search, and machine learning to support increasingly sophisticated use cases.” In its report profile, Forrester noted, “Sonian envisions its archive as a business insights platform, using analytics to extract trends and patterns from archived information.”
“The Forrester Wave is the industry benchmark for information archiving cloud providers,” said Tim McKinnon, president and CEO, Sonian. “I believe that Sonian’s position as a ‘Strong Performer’ speaks to our proven track record for providing companies with best-in-class cloud archiving and data insights platforms. Our archiving and analytics capabilities make it easy for customers to preserve, access and act on their communications data – and apply these insights to their businesses to reduce risk and increase productivity. We believe that Forrester has recognized the strength and value of our offerings.”
At Sonian, we see tremendous possibilities for the largely untapped communications data companies produce and receive every day. This information has enormous potential value beyond its transactional component (which is where most companies stop thinking about it). In fact, we believe this data is one of the greatest untapped resources an organization has, and, with the right analytics capabilities, it can be used to proactively identify security risks, protect intellectual property, improve operational performance, and simply make better business decisions.
We’re looking forward to continuing our tradition of innovation in the cloud to help our customers and partners protect and derive maximum value from their communications data.
