Systems Automation Ruby Engineer
Sonian is looking for an experienced Systems Automation Ruby Engineer
to join our team. We are looking for a highly motivated, goal-oriented &
team-focused engineer.
Responsibilities
• Deliver recipes with Chef, Nanite & Cucumber (Ruby).
• Flawless automated maintenance of 100+ node systems.
• Plan automated backups and fail-over configurations.
• Keep centralized logging and monitoring on clusters.
• Work with other Engineers to profile and optimize.
• Develop capacity plans for new & existing clusters.
• Produce high quality systems documents.
Requirements
• Proficient in Ruby, Git & Linux.
• Firm grasp of networking protocols & firewalls.
• Ability to learn new technologies quickly.
• Have a general excitement for cutting edge technologies.
• Excellent organization, documentation and communication skills.
• Bonus: Detailed knowledge of virtualization and/or EC2.
• Bonus: Detailed knowledge of Rspec and/or Cucumber BDD frameworks.
• Bonus: Experience automating systems with Chef, Puppet or CFEngine.

Experienced Sr. Ruby On Rails team-lead in Boston
Sonian is looking for a highly motivated, goal-oriented individual who will be responsible for designing, building and maintaining our flagship UI.
Responsibilities
• Lead a global team of Rails developers
• Help develop a culture of remote pair programming
• Produce high quality, well-documented BDD code
• Design new features & improve existing ones in our RoR app
• Maintain our up-to-date RoR app with the latest Rails & BDD tools
• Deliver software iteratively every 2 weeks
Requirements
• Resident of the greater Boston, MA area
• A “Lead by Example” attitude and skill-level
• Distributed source control experience with Git
• Demonstrated use of a recognized personal organization system
• Demonstrated & repeated success with a Ruby on Rails team as a lead developer
• Good understanding of Software as a Service and “white-labeled” Rails apps

Inside Sales Representative
Sonian provides a revolutionary new Cloud (SaaS) Based Email Archiving and e-Discovery Service. Our service, leverages the best cloud compute and storage infrastructure available, is experiencing rapid growth (over 500% customer acquisition growth to date in 2009!) and we are looking for hard working, energetic team players to grow with us. The Inside Sales position provides the unique opportunity for the qualified candidate to directly contribute to the success of Sonian and work directly with Sonian founders and executives.
The Inside Sales Reps will be responsible for selling Sonian’s Cloud (SaaS) Based Email Archiving and e-Discovery Service to all verticals in the small and medium size businesses sector. Responsibilities include making outbound calls and responding to incoming leads in order to identify, qualify and close sales opportunities.
Responsibilities
• Build and maintain an in-depth knowledge of Sonian’s Archive Service
• Generate and follow up on provided sales leads to meet or exceed assigned quota
• Qualify direct sales opportunities and drive the full lifecycle sales process through closure
• Maintain strong knowledge of market drivers and competitive landscape.
• Must be able to handle inbound and outbound call volume in a timely and professional manner
• Conduct web presentations to prospective customers
Requirements
• Resident of the greater Boston, MA area
• 2-3 years of sales experience (inside sales preferred) in fast-paced sales environment
• Requires highly motivated individual with an aggressive/assertive and competitive personality
• Experience delivering live demonstrations through web presentation format
• Strong business acumen
• Strong phone, interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
• Working knowledge of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
• Experience with Salesforce.com a plus
• Cloud/SaaS sales experience a plus
Education:
• College degree in business desirable, equal professional experience acceptable.
