Job Description
Sonian is seeing two Senior QA Engineers to support testing of a complex and highly distributed cloud-based SaaS product. Candidates for this position will be responsible for defining, planning and executing test strategies that leverage both manual and automated testing. These positions are remote, although we would would give preference to candidates in the Greater Boston Area.
Responsibilities
β Collaboratively define test strategies for functional, non-functional and performance testing of distributed cloud-based SaaS product.
β Work with development and QA to define and write well documented test plans and cases
β Work with automation engineers to automate testing, including both black and white box testing
β Plan and deliver within existing Agile development methodology
β Use metrics to improve test integrity and coverage
β Coordinate testing with cross functional teams
β Support development of automated testing framework
β Participate in development design reviews
Qualifications
β 8+ years experience in quality assurance engineering
β 4+ years using and/or developing test automation
β Proven SaaS and/or cloud testing expertise
β Proven experience with functional, non-functional and performance testing
β Unix / Linux shell skills writing batch / shell scripts to test applications
β Experience developing automated tests using such tools as Rspec, Selenium, QTP, or similar
β Experience with industry standard QA tools for defect tracking, test case management, and source control
β Expertise with automating and testing in a virtual environment
β Self-motivated and able to work independently
β Excellent interpersonal and problem solving skills
β Flexible, adaptable and ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks
β Bachelors degree, preferably in CS or related experience
β Experience testing Amazon EC2 or other βcloudβ based applications is preferred
