The benefits of cloud computing have triggered an increasing number of enterprises to adopt the technology for uses such as cloud storage, but it is important to answer a few questions before completing the deployment process.
CIO recently shared eight questions that will dominate enterprise cloud adoption, including what is the right model to use and what is the right pace for adoption.
When making the decision to transition to the cloud, there are a variety of models available. The public cloud will outsource all management to the service provider and the private cloud will enable the company to control the management. If neither of these options appeal to the company, the hybrid cloud is probably the best route, as it allows the use of private and public clouds, as well as traditional in-house IT infrastructure.
Determining the pace at which cloud adoption will take place is important as well. The source recommends comparing the adoption of other businesses in the industry to determine the amount of cloud adoption that should be undertaken.
The Cloud Computing Journal says that it is key to avoid mistakes such as not choosing the proper deployment model and running cloud projects with unskilled resources.
